Meet formidable beasts, accustomed to cunning and cruelty, without which you cannot survive among the snow-capped peaks. Travel deep into the Ridge of the World - a harsh and unforgiving land inhabited only by the most fearless of inhabitants. On the northern outskirts of the Forgotten Realms lies the edge of the icy tundra known as Icewind Dale. The Enhanced Edition lets PC, Mac and Linux owners embark on an epic adventure. The 2.5 patch for Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition has just gone live, and it’s huuuge The update will be available in the Beamdog Client, Steam, GOG, Google Play, App Store, and Mac App Store If you don’t see the update soon, please be patient as it takes time to populate through the various stores. The game takes place in the legendary Forgotten Realms. There's also a Kickstarter currently running for the sequel, which is apparently going to extend the tactical options further.Year of release: 2014 Genre: RPG / Licenses / 2014 Developer: Beamdog Publisher: Beamdog Publication type: License, release from GOG Interface language: Russian, English, MULTi Voice language: English, MULTi System Requirements: Operating system: Windows 7 or higher (圆4) Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent RAM: 1 GB Video card: 3D, DirectX 9.0c, 256 MB Free hard disk space: 3 GB DESCRIPTION: Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition is an improved version of the iconic 2000 RPG Icewind Dale, which is part of the Dungeons & Dragons series by Wizards of The Coast. and changing some parts of the storyline that weren't as well-received (some people tired of it towards the end I didn't myself, but they're making changes to the later sections of the game to help with that). That's supposed to be making various improvements to the UI, crafting, etc. There's an Enhanced Edition coming out soon (next month, IIRC), which is going to be given for free to people who own the original. As well as all the expected sorts of various powers you can use on enemies, it has a lot of environmental interactions and powers to play with that create environments and statuses which other powers can key off. If you're OK with a fairly small party (2 starting PCs you create, able to recruit up to two followers after the starting area), Divinity: Original Sin meets all your criteria and its turn-based tactical combat is excellent. Pillars of Eternity (This has been getting a lot of praise, no idea what it's like) Shadowrun Returns - Closest I've gotten, but I'm not a fan of the setting so much. Darkest Dungeon - Great game, but I missed the top-down view and tactical combat besides positioning - also a lot of samey-ness in the enemies and the traps were perfunctory. dont spend ability points when using them. gain 1.000 gold every time you buy something instead of losing gold. GodMode with increased damage (5k each hit, hehe) gain 100.000 XP for each kill. NWN felt close to what I wanted, but something was just. the Enhanced Edition from GoG includes the classic 'Icewind Dale' and 'Heart of Winter'. Baldur's Gate 2 - It was all right, but the pause n play combat felt more chaotic than tactical I have the following, and they weren't really what I was looking for: Other platforms will be updated when the full 2.5 update is ready. Android players will see v2.5.13.2 made available over the next few days. Just a genuine old-school feel, with weird and strange loot, stuff like that. UPDATE: Were rolling out an early version of the 2.5 update to Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition on Google Play due to crashing issues on that platform with v1.4. Turn-based tactical on a map, not JRPG-style where the involved parties line-up (Though Lord of the Rings Third Age and Lost Odyssey were both excellent games) More than just hordes of enemies - encounters with very dangerous foes that can feel unfair if you're not prepared, Traps, some puzzles and locked doors So far, ToEE is probably my favorite game in this genre, but I've played it four times through now and I'd like something else. I have a hard time finding Dungeon-crawl type games that have what I want in a game.
